Every one has his favorites. These favorites are very "special' ones. In creation, God too had his favorites and we call them SPECIAL CHILDREN. They are truly God's children. They require special attention and care. It may not be easy to provide the special care and may be, everyone can't afford it. Because of this, we see certain level of de-focus from the societal side on these wonderful creations of God.

Rotary Cochin International(RCI) had understood it long back. From its inception, Rotary Cochin International gave thought, time and efforts in providing quality services for the welfare of these children. It came through supporting the special schools meant for the differently abled children and also through recognizing those selfless souls who ran those schools. From the very second year of its beginning, Rotary Cochin International had endeavored to get these children together in a common podium and expose their talents to public. Thus was born BHAVANA, "the youth festival for special children”

The aim of BHAVANA is to provide a platform for the children to bring out their talents and to instill confidence in them. The program will help to focus public attention on the scantily recognised capabilities of such children and will help to raise their image in society as a whole. All the programs conducted in the previous years were well attended and were always hit among the schools, participants and the audience alike.

We sincerely share the feelings of these special children and firmly resolve to work in all possible directions to assist them in living their lives in the best ways, circumstances would provide. With this mission, Rotary Cochin International has taken up the responsibility of promoting, supporting and assisting causes that will serve to help the children and their families.

As we are committed to the welfare of Special Children, we are setting aside the funds generated out of this event to “THE SPECIALCHILD FOUNDATION” (TSF). This foundation aims to assess the requirements of Special Children and to provide equipments, medicine, and infrastructure to the needy. The funds may also be used for other community service activities of the club. We need the help and heart from all responsible citizens of this world for this noble cause and your donations are truly precious for us.
